Jami comes to the Hawkeye State from Salt Lake City, Utah where she worked as a reporter for KTVX Channel 4. Prior to working for KTVX, Jami served as the Deputy Director of Communications for Utah Governor Jon Huntsman, tasked with being the chief speech-writer, crafting policy messaging and strategy, and overseeing diplomatic visits for such dignitaries as Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and former Mexican President Vicente Fox.

Jami’s passion for news began by watching Peter Jennings on “World News Tonight” with her father. She pursued her love of journalism at Brigham Young University where she obtained a bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism.  Her coverage of breaking news and in-depth feature stories earned her the prestigious William Randolph Hearst Journalism Award and multiple recognitions from the Society of Professional Journalism.  Jami is currently completing her Master of Public Administration degree from the University of Utah, where she has been recognized as a Pi Alpha Alpha.

Growing up in a farming community in Northwestern Utah, Jami spent hours helping haul hay and feed cattle.  For years, Jami has worked to promote pediatric cancer awareness by working with a variety of national non-profit organizations, a quest that stems from surviving bone cancer as a teenager.  She finds joy in spending time with her husband Jason as they go waterskiing, snow skiing, biking, and traveling.
